Rafeal Nadal and the U.S. Open

December 5th, 2009 admin No comments

The U.S. Open is all about the best players in tennis. Who might you see at the 2010 U.S. Open? You might see Rafeal Nadal a top player in tennis and currently ranked number two in men’s tennis. Women love him around the world and was recently one of the world’s sexiest men of 2009. He is an avid player and has been playing professional tennis for nine years now. He is a young and excellent player and was playing in the world spotlight and a young age of fourteen. He has won many tournaments and continues to excel. With a little more practice and the ability to stay healthy you can expect repeat returns in all the major male tennis events.

Nadal is young and athletic and built for the game standing just over six feet tall and only one hundred and eighty eight pounds. He can move around the court quickly and can reach for the ball with his long arms. His abilities are compared to another great Federer whose abilities have been unmatched on the court until this young and upcoming athlete hit the big times.

He won the 2009 Australian Open and has a list of other grand slam singles wins all over the world. This young athlete is aggressive and has great placement on the court. He hits hard and can move around the court with great athleticism. His aggressiveness is what leads him to great victories.

Well his aggressiveness on offensive is great. From that he can play a terrific defense and counter attacks from his opponent with great ferocity and determination. His will power to succeed and win forces him to play hard and achieve many victories over his opponents. His ability to play aggressive offense and still make defensive plays makes him a great player.

He has few weaknesses and a major folly for him is his second serve. So at each serve he hopes to get it over the net and in play. For each mistake made could cost him a round or even a match. With hard work and practice he can improve and become a better player. He will be interesting to watch and see him grow as an athlete in the coming years for I believe that he has many more to come. So keep your eyes peeled for this Spain native to reach the top and expect him next year at the U.S. Open.

Roger Federer and the U.S. Open

November 28th, 2009 admin No comments

The U.S. Open is all about the best players in tennis. Who might you see at the 2010 U.S. Open? You might see Roger Federer. He is currently ranked number one in the world and holds numerous title wins everywhere in the world. His rating comes from the Association of Tennis Professionals. He was born in the town of Binningen Switzerland. He grew up playing tennis and started at a young age. He also was an avid soccer player and had wanted to go professional in that sport. He decided to stop playing soccer and focus on his tennis game.

He has been proclaimed as the greatest tennis player in the history of the game. Federer has won the career Grand Slam and has appeared in the last twenty two Grand Slam events. He is an extraordinary player with lots of talent and can outperform many on the court. His offensive is superb and defenses is strong. He outplays most his opponents and has won many titles and regular match play games.

He has many records and holds that are his and his alone. There is only one that he shares and that is with Rafeal Nadal. That record is for holding Grand Slam titles on three surfaces clay, grass, and hard court. As well as a tennis person he is a spokesperson for numerous charitable organizations.

His charities are numerous and include UNICEF which he publicly endorse with commercials for AIDs and other diseases that the organization help with funding money for cures and helping the people and regions of the world devastated by the disease. He has also helped flood victims from the tsunami and holds tennis events to raise money and awareness for his causes.

His style is like no other and can hit the call with ferocity and agility. His athleticism allows him to play on any surface and excel at each one. Well most players are good on a certain type of court whether grass, clay, or a hard court. Federer has the ability to play on any of them exceptionally well. He has been named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year four times in the past five years due to all that he has done for the sport. And his fans don’t just include the normal people but players that he faces in matches. This due to the fact that he can play anywhere which few can say they can do. Look for him as a strong candidate to win the next U.S. Open next year and possibly many more as he has been called the greatest player by opponents and sports enthusiast the world over.

Serena Williams and the U.S. Open

November 21st, 2009 admin No comments

The U.S. Open is all about the best players in tennis. Who might you see at the 2010 U.S. Open? You might see Serena Williams a very good and excellent player. She has been rated in the top ten for most of her career. Barring her injury to a tendon that was repaired and slowed her down for a time until a recent rise over the past few years. And ranked her at the lowest she had ever seen one hundred eighty one. She is once again ranked in the top ten and competing like she did early on in her career.

She has won more title and grand slams then most players of her day. One of her main competitors is her sister Venus. They have competed for Grand Slam titles numerous times and it is the first time that two sisters have competed for four of them in one year. Serena has won more prize money than any other female in history in tennis and continues to rake in the big pots. The competition between sisters is fierce and always a good match. They are pretty even on the court and the record between the two shows it.

Serena is an offensive player with one of the strongest serves in the game. Some say that she plays to aggressive and lacks defense. That however is a misconception. They do say defense wins championships and she has plenty of them to prove it. She can hit the ball with great placement no matter where in the court she receives the ball from. She holds a strong open stance in both her forehand and backhand stroke. She can do great things on the court with a superior serve and a tremendous back hand that is said to be the best in females’ tennis. And her serves strike fear in her opponents with consistent serves well over a hundred miles per hour.

Her background in tennis has been long and deep and has played since a young child. Her and her sister were coached by their parents and have done exceptionally well. During their pre teenager years they were both on the junior tennis tour and Serena was ranked number one. One thing has not changed and that is that she is still and has always been since a young age a force to reckon with. Her parents pulled the sisters off the junior tour due to racisism that the father had noted from the white parents. So he took them off and continued coaching her. Which made her a great player and she continues to win. Race was never an issue for her and winning is not either.

Maria Sharapova and the U.S. Open

November 14th, 2009 admin No comments

The U.S. Open is all about the best players in tennis. Who might you see at the 2010 U.S. Open? You might see Maria Sharapova a young Russian all star. This young athlete from Russia was born into poverty. At the age of seven her father decided that life in poverty was not for his daughter and they moved to the United States. She was enrolled in a tennis academy and competed in junior competitions. At the age of 17 she burst into the spotlight with her first major win at Wimbledon. She has been ranked number one multiple times and has many endorsements.

She is the highest paid female in women sports. This is partially due to all her endorsements and appearance fees. Although much of it comes from matches that she plays in the WTA. Her endorsements include but are not limited to Canon, Nike and multiple others. Her career as of late has been shaky following surgery to her shoulder two years ago.

She took almost a year off and dropped from her top ten rank to below one hundred during her hiatus. This though did not take long for her to retain her top national ranking within a few months of her return to the circuit. She is a great player on grass and hard surfaces. Her weakness is clay due to the fact that it slows the ball down and is harder to move on. Though she has as of recently started to put a little more focus on her clay game it still is her hardest surface to win on. Although she has started to gain on the clay courts she still is behind on some of the other tennis players she competes with.

She is also one of the most attractive players in the game. She has done numerous photo shoots with Maxim and Sports Illustrated along with many other modeling opportunities. FHM magazine out of Britain recently did an article on her. They listed her as one of the top most eligible bachelorette. This was based on her financial income as a top paid athlete and her good looks.

I f she can stay healthy and keep her record strong it is more than likely she will be in the 2010 U.S. Open. With an aggressive baseline attack and strong defense she is a strong competitor. She prefers hanging back and playing from there rather than rushing the net and the lobs from the opponent. She would much rather wait for the ball and control the tempo of the game.

Elena Dementieva and the U.S. Open

November 7th, 2009 admin No comments

The U.S. Open is all about the best players in tennis. Who might you see at the 2010 U.S. Open? You might see Elena Dementieva a Russian born tennis female tennis player. She has been playing tennis many years and has made it to the U.S. Open before. She has been playing tennis since she was a young child. Her family has supported and coached her. She has also had professional coaching from schools and regular tennis coaches. Her mother and brother are now her full time coaches keeping her family close. She won her first international event in 1997 at the age of thirteen.

When she first entered the Women’s Tennis association after a year after her first international win she was ranked in the top 500. Within a year she was ranked in the top 100. She had many victories and rose quickly up the ranking. The highest rank that she has ever been is three and currently sits at the number 4 spot. So it is highly likely that she will make it to next year’s 2010 U.S. Open.

Her first time to the top ten ranking was in 2003 after she beat out many of the top seeded players to win her first WTA tournament. She has never won at the U.S. Open but has made it to the finales twice once in the singles competition and once in the doubles. She is one of the few top rated tennis players to never win a grand slam title though she has competed in many.

Her style of play is a baseline offense with very little play at the net. Her trips to the net are usually to return a drop shot or a weak return volley. Her athleticism is essential to her success. She has the ability to adapt to different court surfaces well clay she is the least comfortable with. Her serve is faulty and she has been working on bettering them.

She is a very versatile player and continues to be. Her athleticism helps her tremendously and is more than likely the reason she is not plagued with injury like so many other tennis players. Though she has not won many tournaments she has brought home Olympic gold which proves that she is able to win against the world’s best. I believe that it is only a matter of time before she starts winning tournaments and possibly making the U.S. Open in the next year. For tennis tickets visit http://usopentickets.org

Change is Always In the Air at the US Open

June 23rd, 2009 admin No comments

The 2009 US Open tennis tournament will be starting August 25th in Flushing Meadows, NY and will feature the finest players in professional tour tennis today. The mens’, womens’, and doubles matches will, in may cases, be close contests on the hard court surface. The Decoturf surface that covers the courts at the Flushing Meadows tennis complex has much less rebound than other hard court surfaces. This reduced rebound ultimately means that serve-and-volley players have a much higher rate of success on this surface than on other hard court surfaces, unlike at other professional tennis tournaments

Another unique feature of tennis play at the US Open tennis tournament at Flushing Meadows is the instant-replay of line calls . The instant-replay feature, using the Hawk-Eye computer system, started in 2006, allows a three-dimensional re-enactment based on multiple camera views, of the actual bounce of the ball on the tennis court. It is said that the system is accurate to within five millimeters (approximately one-fifth of an inch). Fans, players, and umpires at the US Open tournament at Flush Meadows are all able to simultaneously see this instant replay re-enactment of the bounce of the ball.

Starting with the 2009 US Open tennis tournament players will be allowed up to 3 challenges per set as well as one additional challenge in case of a tiebreak. Successful challenges will not reduce the number of challenges left to a player in any given set. According to statistics provided by the US Open professional tennis tournament official website, around 30% of all player challenges were overturned since the instant-replay rule began in the 2006 tournament. The Hawk-Eye system is currently only available on the two main stadium courts, the Ashe and Armstrong courts.

Beginning in 2005, all of the courts at the US Open tennis tournament complex at Flushing Meadows were changed to have blue inner courts and green outer courts, to allow players to see the ball better during play. Even though all courts at the tennis tournament complex are lit (to allow night-time play for prime-time television audiences), this two-tone color scheme change helped to let players see the ball better during the fast-paced play that characterizes today’s professional tennis world. When serves on the men’s tennis circuit often top 140 miles per hour, any small advantage is good to be able to see the tennis ball. Players today serve and hit harder than ever, and as a result, the ball is harder to see than it was in past decades.

Roger Federer is the heavy favorite to win the 2009 US Open professional tennis tournament at Flushing Meadows tennis tournament complex, Federer is by far the most dominant player on the men’s professional tennis tour, and is also the five-time defending champion of the US Open. If Federer manages to hold onto his title, he will have 6 US Open championships to his credit, more than any other professional male player since Bill Tilden in the 1920s. He is currently still tied with Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors, but, unless something unusual happens, Roger Federer is about to make men’s professional moder-era tennis history. If Federer can win this year’s US open plus two more, he will have the most US Open titles of any player in tennis history.
